Your Actions Reflect on the Orchestra
Everyone in the orchestra implicitly represents the orchestra when we are gathered together or when talking with others about our organization.
If a participant engages in behavior that may put the orchestra into disrepute, the TCGSO Executive Committee may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion.
Intellectual Property Guidelines
All individuals and groups associated with the TCGSO must take the intellectual property of others seriously. This includes, but is not limited to, refraining from the following actions: plagiarizing other composers’ and/or arrangers’ work and copying or distributing music to parties outside of the TCGSO.
Individuals or groups caught committing such acts will be asked to resign from involvement with the orchestra upon review by the Executive Staff and other outside parties as needed.
Rehearsal and Concert Guidelines
Keep Rehearsals Productive
Although we are a community orchestra, all of our members deserve to have a productive rehearsal to maximize our ability to learn our music and create a great sound together.
When the conductor or other orchestra leadership needs to convey information or rehearse a part, please pay attention and be respectful. When a different section is being rehearsed, don’t make noise above very quiet speech and be ready to participate again when called upon. When playing or singing, follow the dynamics in the score and as signaled by the conductor to create a beautiful acoustic blend, rather than playing only to be heard above others.
Be On Time
In order to ensure we can have productive rehearsals, please be on time and ready to play at the time the conductors need you to be ready. Rehearsal start time is when playing starts, not when people should arrive.
